So our vacation is going quite well, except poor little Connor broke his collarbone after falling off Brian's (Wendy's...roommate?) pony/dog/horse. He was a total trooper though, and he told me as we were walking into Wal-Mart, after leaving the doctor, "Hey, don't people with broken bones get Icees, right Aunt Stacey?" This was after he asked for ice cream on the way to the doctor's office, fruitlessly demanded a candy bar at the doctor, then actually got candy at Walgreens, and finally we ended up getting him some ice cream at Wal-Mart. Milk it for all it's worth, I guess...
I am back at Mom's after Thanksgiving at Melissa's. I have been lazing around the house, helping here and there with some cooking for thanksgiving food for Jacob's friends and such. Mom's knee is hurting so she's taking it easy. I made Hadley very angry earlier, tickling and laughing at her while she was grouching because she had not taken a nap yet and it was 4 p.m. She was not very happy, but it was sooo funny.
I am not particularly looking forward to going back home to several end-of-semester projects I have to get done, but it's all going to be worth it in the end! What I am most excited about this December, besides Christmas, is going to one of the road tour stops of this movie I have been promoting. I was supposed to go to the US Premiere in Austin on my birthday, but certain events (a hurricane and a wreck) plus my worrisome family prevented me from going. I also missed the big Release party in Vegas, and the soundtrack release party in LA. I definitely would not have been able to go to those two, too far away, for sure. The first Road Tour was so successful, with sold-out showings, that they tacked on a second Road Tour, and made a stop in Houston! I'm sure it wasn't solely so that I could go, but I pushed hard for it and I got it. Ive been on contact with a few theaters trying to get one of the 12 reels to come to more theaters in Houston, but it is tough. Even though I promise sold-out showings, they are hesitant because the movie only had a limited release. Hopefully there are some openings soon. The DVD is released in January, so maybe after that happens, everyone around me will stop hearing about this movie!
Anyway, I must go, because Mom needs my help in the kitchen. She sends her love to Linda and Denton and her congratulations on the new baby, as do Hadley and I. Good luck, and don't let those days fly by. They will anyway, but everyone always told me, so I'm just passing the word on.
Until next time (and who knows how long that will be)!
